DIVISION STANDARDS

Below are movement variations and loads that athletes competing in these respective divisions should be able to perform. In the spirit of competition, athletes may or may not see all the movements and loadings listed in the competition, but there won’t be any drastic differences in weights/skilled movements that are not shown in the standards list. Athlete’s may also see movements that are not listed in COMPETITION; however, these expectations clearly outline the level of fitness and experience expected of the athletes competing in these respective divisions. In ALL competitions, athletes find holes in their fitness. We don’t expect any of our athletes to have a complete game. Competition provides all athletes a unique opportunity to challenge and test themselves. In competition, athletes frequently find successes in areas of doubt, and sometimes find failures in areas of confidence. As a general guideline, if you possess capacity and confidence in a majority of the movement/loading expectations listed, you are suited to compete in that respective division.

RX Divisions

The RX Divisions for Both Individual & Teams of 3, Athletes need to have capacity in all gymnastics movements, Moderate/Heavy Barbell & Dumbbell Movements, Odd Object Implements. RX athletes should be comfortable with all weighted & skilled movements in CrossFit, this includes anything that would normally pop in the CrossFit Open or CrossFit Quarterfinals. RX athletes should be RX’n the majority of CrossFit workouts at your gym, should be close to if not in the top 10% in the CrossFit Open & making it to Quarterfinals every year.

Intermediate Divisions

The Intermediate division was added to accommodate athletes that have been working out for a while, potentially have been doing some competitions throughout the year or need an event to train for but shouldn’t be in the Open Division or are not capable of competing in the RX division due to the Higher Skilled movements & heavier loading. Intermediate Athletes should not be easily RX’n all workouts & finishing the CrossFit Open in the Top 10% in the World.

This division will have mid-level gymnastics movements such as Toes to Bar, Chest To Bar, Pull Ups, it will not include higher skill gymnastics such as Muscle Ups, Handstand Walking or Handstand Push Ups. Loading for this division will be less than RX on certain Barbell/Dumbbell/Odd-Object movements and will be the same as RX on some events when gymnastics are modified to Mid-Level.

Open Division

The Open Team Division is for athletes who have never competed or have only a couple competitions under their belt and are still working on the intermediate skills & strength movements. Open Athletes should have fitness capacity for testing 6 workouts over two days, higher skilled movements will be modified to accommodate athletes who have not learned these skills. The weights for Dumbbell & Barbell movements will also be modified to a more appropriate range for open athletes. If you’re looking for an additional challenge of heavier loading & higher skill movements then the intermediate division would be a good one to register for.

Masters Division

(Combined age 120) *Minimum Age 35

Description: The Masters team division will have loading similar to but a little lighter on some movement compared intermediate team division, masters’ teams will potentially see some higher skilled movements such as Bar Muscle Ups, Double Under, Handstand Walking, Workouts will be programmed so that only 2 athletes on the team needs to be capable of completing the skilled movements, while the other team member can split or do more the other movements in the workout if necessary.
